Four days till Christmas, that means it's high time Lacy and I start looking for the presents. Joy's being incredibly smug- she's convinced that I won't find a thing. We'll see about that. She however, will not find her present from me. I know she'll look here, so I'm not going to say anything else about it. We talked about some of her friends from Chesire this morning- when one of them fell out of a tree. I remember that day so well- Joy was so worried that she would get in trouble. I was certain she'd caught the house on fire or something of the sort when she came tearing into my room... I should go, I need to find Solace before Mother starts asking where she is, again. She reminds me of myself...

It's been a while- again. I don't write very much, do I? Poor Lacy is being punished, and Joy is very adamant about it all. She apparently took Joy's haircomb and traded it to a witch for something. Yes, I know, it was dangerous- but it's just like something I would have done when I was her age. I feel bad for her, she cried earlier today- you know I hate it when they cry. She finally calmed down after I picked her up- I'm going to have to discuss this with Joy, maybe I can get Millie to help.

October 20, 1643 I suppose it's about time I wrote something in here again. I met a young woman today. Verity Pemberton. Joy seems convinced that she's fallen for me already. I think that's ridiculous. She's pretty of course, but I don't know her and she doesn't know me. Joy's fallen for someone. It must be the morning for things like this. I have to find out who. I would ask Felicity, but I doubt Joy's told her. I have some things to do for father. Jamie |

July 21 The Spanish threatened to attack our coloney unless we managed to come up with 5000 dollars. Everything turned out all right though. I'm beginning to wonder if we're ever going to have any peace and quiet on this little island of ours. Joy was discontent here, I could tell. She'd disapper for the longest amounts of time and worry Miss Styles to death. "I want an adventure Jamie, perhaps not too much of one, but an adventure all the same." She certainly got her adventure, with the Spanish and all. She even ended up in the gossip column. |

July 18 Joy came home and told me about a strange man today. He's new to the island and he seems like a suspicious character to me. Sweet little Joy obviusly didn't think about that because she gave him a pie and allowed him to walk with her. I'm not sure that was the best idea, and I've told her so. We'll see what comes of it. |

The oddest thing happened today. Apparantly the island is rather covered with green fog. And corpses are appearing out of it. One of them threw a fish at a girl... I think she was a Dunn. The girls and mother are worried, but I've done my best to keep their minds off of it. Teasing them end-lessly has been difficult, but I have to do what I have to do. -J |

July 5th We arrived in St. Erasmus today. It seems like a nice enough place. I've just noticed Joy added something to my last entry. I'll have to find her diary tomorrow. I'm going to bed, it's late and it's been a long, long day. James |

May 29th 1643 Father told us yesterday that we were leaving. Well, he told me, then he told the girls. Joy got quiet, and Felicity got upset. I'd really rather not go, but there's no sense in worrying about something I can't change. I can't seem to get the girls to understand this. Who knows... we might even like it there. And the best part is that Joy's friend will have to stay here in England. -James Jamie, that was rude of you! -Joy |

May 23 1643 When I came in a few nights ago I found my parents in deep conversation over something. I was told to find something in another room to occupy myself with. Apparantly the'd told the girls the same thing. Anne came by again. This time she bought a pie. Joy laughed so hard she had to sit down after she left. Mother came close. I wish she'd give up... but I don't want to be rude. Joy is apparantly reading over my shoulder. She says I'm being dramatic. She's wrong. -J |

May 19 Alice and Liam are home, they got back today. Aaron and I met them at the docks and they all came for supper. Mother and the girls out did themselves. Alice had a good time, but Liam didn't seem so enthusiastic about it. |
